Ma première lettre d'amour / Je vous relis sans cesse

"Lise Nougier is back and presents the show 'My First Love Letter' alongside pianist Ramon Theobald. A supposed heartbreak prompts the singer, a former member of the Paris Opera Academy, to reread her lover's letters, creating a musical narrative through operatic works that reflect this situation: Werther, Eugene Onegin, La Traviata, but also operettas by Jacques Offenbach and songs by Barbara and Anne Sylvestre. Für Elise, sometimes caricatured, serves as a recurring motif. Lise Nougier's rich and powerful voice is particularly well-suited to the dramatic repertoire of Gounod and Tchaikovsky, while also embracing – with mischievous delight – French chanson. Suddenly, more tender nuances emerge. This taste for whimsy, in service of great musicality, is also evident in the gentle skirmishes between her and her pianist." FORUM OPÉRA - Julian Lembke

A musical journey through the most beautiful letters of the repertoire

"Ma première lettre d'amour" is a musical show that explores the art of letter writing through the most beautiful love and breakup letters, sung through Opera, Operetta, and French Chanson. From Tchaikovsky to Barbara, from Offenbach to Anne Sylvestre, these musical missives are all testimonies of powerful emotions, whether joyful, painful, or passionate.

Accompanied by my pianist and partner Ramon Theobald, who also acts in this show, we delve into famous works such as Anne Sylvestre's "Lettre d'Elise," Offenbach's "Rondeau de Metella" from La Vie Parisienne, and Verdi's "Lettre de la Traviata," to name just a few. We experience moments of musical intimacy, sometimes light, sometimes poignant, but always of great beauty.

This program is bound together by a theatrical narrative that brings letters and melodies to life, creating a vibrant and dynamic performance where each song and letter finds its place in a fluid and moving storytelling. Through this journey, we invite audiences of all ages to rediscover the power of music and words.

This show has already been successfully presented at prestigious events, such as the Aix-en-Provence Easter Festival, the Glanum Festival and the Luberon Festival, where it has captivated a wide audience.

With Ramon Theobald and myself, let yourself be carried away into a universe where music and love letters come to life before your eyes, for an unforgettable experience.
