BIOGRAPHY
Lise Nougier is a passionate and promising lyric soprano. She trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she earned her Master’s degree in lyrical singing before joining the Académie of the Paris Opera. Her meeting with the celebrated soprano Diana Damrau in 2020 marked a decisive turning point in her vocal and artistic development.
Her velvety, rounded voice — distinguished by its luminous, silvery top notes — reveals a rare richness of tone. This range allows her to approach demanding roles with natural elegance, such as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte by Mozart, Mimi in La Bohème by Puccini, and Micaëla in Carmen by Bizet. Recently, she performed as the First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute in Montréal with the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute, and she will soon appear as Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust at the Théâtre de Mâcon.
Lise has had the honour of collaborating with renowned artists including Claire Gibault, Alain Françon, Sabine Devieilhe, and Alexandre Tharaud, and has performed at prestigious festivals such as Les Folles Journées de Nantes, the Festival de Pâques in Aix-en-Provence, the Festival Glanum, and the Festival Ravel.
With a deep sensitivity for text and the French language, Lise also nurtures a lifelong passion for theatre. She holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Modern Literature and Performing Arts, and has enriched her artistic background with training in acting, improvisation, clowning, and tap dance. These diverse influences converge in her own creations, such as Ps: je vous relis sans cesse — a performance combining lyric singing and theatre, inspired by some of the most beautiful love letters from the operatic and French song repertoire.
Always exploring new soundscapes, she has recently begun a collaboration with harpist Sujata Chapelain on a program devoted to French mélodies.
Named ADAMI Lyric Revelation in 2019 and awarded First Prize (Soloist) at the Gordes Competition in September 2025, Lise Nougier continues to leave her mark on the operatic scene, captivating audiences with her talent, dedication, and unique artistic personality.
